Sep 10, 2015 | Beldarius | ...That moment when a reverse trap in a manga/anime isn't noticed by the ENTIRE FANDOM until The Reveal. Doesn't happen often. Guess Matsuena-sensei's just that good at hiding things. Practically every History's Strongest Disciple reader thought Shiratori was a guy. . The anime's English dub made it worse by giving her a male voice (in Japan, it was a woman who just sounds boyish). |
---|---|---|
Apr 8, 2014 | Beldarius | *pops in* This character is listed as female, but he's actually a guy. His voice actor Makoto Ishii is male and voiced Kazuki Makabe in Soukyuu no Fafner. XD While this character may look female, but his/her gender is actually ambiguous. His voice actor is male and he's called "the God of Darkness" (in reality, Abzu is the Mesopotamian god of underground water) - so he's either male, or genderless. Even with a woman's chest. |
Feb 27, 2014 | Beldarius | Ugh. I hate it when I get a muscle cramp in the middle of my palm. -_- |
Feb 20, 2014 | Beldarius | It appears the picture here (of Li Kohran) is fanmade. Her birthday is wrong on it - she was born on March 3, 1906; not January 8, 1907 (that's actually Sumire Kanzaki's birthday). |
Feb 18, 2014 | Beldarius | Shine's data was the funniest. She was listed as an adult, but she's a teen... I know she doesn't look like it, but she's just 12. XD |
Feb 18, 2014 | Beldarius | Aaaand done. ...Going through official Japanese material and then Bing-translating it takes some time. *falls over* http://www.animecharactersdatabase.com/character.php?id=13571 --- I commented on that with official information about a few Super Robot Wars characters since some of them have been listed as adults despite being teens, and the other way around. XD I LOVE how Kyosuke has been listed as a teen, even though he doesn't even look like one (he's 22). |
Feb 15, 2014 | Beldarius | I love how Kyosuke is listed as a teen here: http://www.animecharactersdatabase.com/character.php?id=13571 When in fact he's 22 years old. X''''D |
Nov 23, 2013 | Beldarius | ...I think I found another 'error' in the database. XD http://www.animecharactersdatabase.com/character.php?id=40982 This character doesn't look female to me. ...Women don't have goatees. That, and the name is male. |
Oct 17, 2013 | Beldarius | Yo. Discovered something on the database. http://www.animecharactersdatabase.com/character.php?id=8988 This fellow is listed as having short hair - the picture doesn't show his actual hair length. The official details would be "waist-length" since he has a ponytail. XD http://myanimelist.net/character/1470/Takamichi_Fujiwara_no/pictures |
Jul 31, 2013 | Beldarius | OK. I'll do that from now on. But honestly, Akki Lanta. I haven't laughed like that for a while. XD (And naming a character after a freakin' cow. Now I'm curious as to who that hunter actually is.) |
Jul 31, 2013 | Beldarius | Euler, however, is actually a cow. I have no idea who the old hunter is, but that is not his name. |
Jul 31, 2013 | Beldarius | Oh, I've listed all the real names in the comments on the character pages - "Akki Lanta" is "Aki Ranta", "Hannah" is "Hanna", "Ines Lilac" is "Iines Lilack", "Katri Ukon / Katoli" is "Katri Ukonniemi / Katori", "Marty Halma" is "Martti Halme", "Sarah Ukon" is "Saara Ukonniemi", "Sofia Nilanen" is "Sofia Niilanen" (though technically Nilanen is also a working last name) and "Ulysse Ukon" is "Uris Ukonniemi". |
Jul 31, 2013 | Beldarius | The names I've provided are pretty much right - I'm Finnish so I know what the names are supposed to be. XD Besides, I could even fetch the original novel from a library. |
Jul 31, 2013 | Beldarius | Akki Lanta is the best one yet. Lanta is Finnish for "dung" and Akki isn't even a name. ...Aki Ranta? Turned into that? Wow. |
Jul 31, 2013 | Beldarius | http://www.animecharactersdatabase.com/source.php?id=102044 This series has so many spelling errors that it's not funny. I've commented on practically every character to give them their real names. |
Jul 31, 2013 | Beldarius | lmfao oh god. I just saw one of the funniest errors you could make in the database. ...Somebody named a hunter character in Katri, Girl of the Meadows "Euler". However, Euler is actually "Eula" and it's the name of Katri's COW. I have no idea who the hunter is, but he's definitely not a cow. XD |
Jul 28, 2013 | Beldarius | Mitsuko Horie sang the OP theme to Mahou no Mako-chan when she was only 13... this woman is insanely talented. o_o |
Jul 28, 2013 | Beldarius | ...Hm. Chisa Yokoyama is exactly like her Sakura Taisen character Sakura in real life. Her hobbies include daydreaming and theater. fffft According to what I've seen so far, she's a real life Cloud Cuckoo Lander. |
Jul 28, 2013 | Beldarius | ...Good lord. This Nippon Animation music collection I just found... it has "Mae o Muite Arukou" from Violinist of Hameln on it. *fangirly flip-out* |
Jul 28, 2013 | Beldarius | Alpacas groan. So I guess llamas should, too. (We have an alpaca farm in my hometown.) |
Jul 28, 2013 | Beldarius | Bel D"Air"ius ;P *shot* |
Jul 28, 2013 | Beldarius | woof |
Jun 27, 2013 | Beldarius | http://www.animecharactersdatabase.com/character.php?id=53067 This is also a man. ...Voiced by Kappei Yamaguchi. |
Jun 27, 2013 | Beldarius | I love these database mistakes. http://www.animecharactersdatabase.com/character.php?id=10588 This character is listed as a girl, but he's actually a guy. XD |
Jun 27, 2013 | Beldarius | I also started reading Naruto yesterday. I've never read a single chapter of the series, and thought it's about time I started. |
Jun 27, 2013 | Beldarius | Hm. Wow, this is easy. Out of Ginji and Ban, Ban is easily the hotter one. XD Think I need to start reading that manga now. |
Jun 27, 2013 | Beldarius | The Granzon is also capable of destroying 60,000+ enemies on its own while on automatic. Shu doesn't even need to do anything but sit and watch. |
Jun 27, 2013 | Beldarius | I can relate to that voting thing. Honestly, people voting that Kira Yamato could defeat Shu Shirakawa in a mecha battle? ...Seriously. Shu's mecha is capable of blowing up the whole solar system in one hit. You'd think a Gundam would be toast (especially since the Granzon has an antimatter engine that creates true black holes). |
Jun 27, 2013 | Beldarius | *climbs out of hole in the floor* |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | Hiro Shimono's yandere from "Yandere Heaven Black". XD www.hobirecords.com/yanderebl2/images/cv_02.wax ...And yes, this is the official voiceclip so it's not illegal or anything. His psychotic laugh toward the end sounds like an insane seagull. XD I love it. |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | I was forced to wait outside class for two hours because I'd been five minutes late. XD Stupid polytechnic. (And I was hit on by an African exchange student with yellow sclera. Eek.). |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | Yep. Polytechnic was business information technology. Terrible. Java programming was too hard, especially since our teacher never showed us what went wrong. Instead she just fixed your mistakes without pointing them out. |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | I finished high school when I was 20. *shrug* I had to be there for a fourth year due to slow studies. Then I was in a polytechnic for half a year, quit that and went into an open university course (comparative literature), worked at a summer job, and finally had two years of library assistant school. And now here I am, a library assistant who's going to study something else. xD |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | I've been accepted into an university through my entrance exam. ...I'll be studying English translation starting this fall! |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | Oh god. |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | And why did my text turn red? |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | ...Why did I suddenly get a message "I'm here Beldarius"? What did I do? o_o |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | Can anyone here eat with chopsticks? ...I admit I sucked at using them when I was a teen. Somehow a few years back when ordering sushi, I suddenly learned how to use them in the blink of an eye. I'm currently eating my noodles with chopsticks~ |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | *munches on fried noodles, beef and veggies* |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | I've seen Titan A.E. (Twice.) I just don't remember anything. |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | I am indecisive in everything. 8D When a possibility of Libra Shiryu appeared in Saint Seiya Omega, I said "...No. Just, no." I don't want a Libra Shiryu. That armor would be useless for him since he always takes the torso of his armor off in his battles anyway. I just like Genbu more than Shiryu, he at least isn't boring and stubborn and lose and regain his eyesight 24/7. |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | I actually have a few characters I don't like anymore (or at least not as much as I used to). For ex, in Saint Seiya Shiryu was one of my favorite Bronze Saints. Then Ikki and Shun took his place and now I find Shiryu kind of boring. |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | I don't like yandere when it comes to their personality - I love them for their psychotic voices. Since I actually have a soft spot for psychotic sociopath characters. One of my OCs is one (he loves seeing blood fly so he goes from being a hero to being a villain and ends up shooting manticore tail darts at people). |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | And I love those CDs. There are even a few BL ones. |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | ...There are actually yandere drama CDs aimed at girls where guys are the yandere. ...Hiro Shimono as a yandere is scary and adorable at the same time - his psychotic laugh sounds like an insane seagull. XD |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | Gotta go get ready to leave, bbl |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | It was too bad Danny's dead. He made the best movies ever. Even the Court Jester had great songs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIWNPprZJsw "After the dust had cleared half the cast had a beard And I'm the one as you can see for who the bell tolls merrily." "We asked Shakespeare and Francis Bacon would they declare Which one wrote this... and they both said 'Get outta there'" He honestly learned his singing, dancing and acting on his own (he was part of a vaudeville troupe as a young man). |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FmgdBvVOH9A. Also, the greatest gibberish-singer ever. You can even tell what he's singing about due to his acting. XD |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | Danny Kaye was the greatest comedian ever. Easily beating Robin Williams (who is second best). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CetQrxFp4XI |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | Throwing up in a tuba... |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | My favorite movies are all older than I am. My favorite Disney movie is The Black Cauldron (from mid-80s) because it's dark and gloomy and based on a really good fantasy book series. And has the creepiest Disney villain ever. Danny Kaye's movies? Range from 1930s to nearly 1970s (last film from 1969). And his best movie ever, The Court Jester. "The pellet with the poison's in the vessel with the pestle; the chalice from the palace has the brew that is true!" |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | Anthony Hopkins is pretty much the best actor in the whole world. Hannibal Lecter. PS. Some American actors that actually have talent: Kevin Spacey, Robert Downey Jr. and Jack Nicholson~ Oh, and he's dead, but Danny Kaye. The best comedian in the world (and the best scat-singer ever, and he learned to dance and sing on his own. Without training.) |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | I mean... country that produced Keanu Reeves and Richard Gere, versus the country that produced Anthony Hopkins, Laurence Olivier, Jeremy Brett (THE Sherlock Holmes), Judi Dench and Helen Miller, or the country that produced Hugo Weaving, Hugh Jackman and Cate Blanchett. And yes, I view Hugh Jackman as a good actor. He can freakin' dance and sing like someone from the 1930s. Spontaneously. Doesn't seem very Wolverine-ish to me. |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | ...I've also noticed that Hollywood movies and actors tend to suck, while British and Australian movies, TV-shows and actors are best of the best. It appears as if America only focuses on good looks, while the British Isles and Australia focus on actual acting talent. |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | Poor old Australia. (On a different note, I love Australian accents. And British accents. American ones, not so much. You hear those all the time. British and Australian ones are more scarce.) |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | Oh, I need to eat since I have to go in half an hour. Have a meeting with a cosmetician (dry skin problems). |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | Ew, and I feel sick. I need to eat something. (I feel sick if I haven't eaten for a while.) |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | XD |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | ...Isn't one of the characters even called Kintoki? XD |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | ...And why does Tetsuo Kaneda look like some anime staff member's name? |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | ...I was thinking about Hijikata from Gintama (I know about him since one of my favorite voice actors), and suddenly heard someone in my head yelling "HIJIKATAAAAAAA" in the same way that those "TETSUOOOO" / "KANEEEEDAAA" screams were done in Akira. |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | ...I still need to watch Gintama. Because Tomokazu Sugita shines at weirdo roles (heck, he's a weirdo in real life - he even laughs like a homicidal ghost). |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | Flying pineapples...? Now I was reminded of the catchphrase of one forum I used to frequent. "Watch out for flying waffles and nuts!" Apparently some flying waffles had the tendency to smack people in the head or face, and we were all nuts. |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | That reminds me of my high school chemistry teacher. She once asked for a volunteer to give her his/her socks, and some guy handed his over. ...Our teacher promptly dunked the socks in liquid nitrogen and froze them into blocks of sock-shaped ice. |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | It's called "King's Water" in Finnish. |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | You gotta be a true pirate if your stomach can take that... |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | ...That isn't grog anymore, it's sulphuric acid. |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | ...You know, I'm not an alcoholic... but I'm a Pepsiholic. |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | ...I have an alcoholic couple living practically next door. Both are math teachers. ._. |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | Or rum. "Somebody stole me rum!" |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | ...Apparently some Finnish homebrews are 100% alcohol. Ugh. |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | I actually vowed as a teen that I will never drink coffee. ...Look at me now, I had a cup of latte just this morning (two thirds coffee, one third milk, nothing else). Tasted awesome. |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | My mom tried an Italian drink called grappa once. Apparently it's even worse than vodka. |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | My friend once made me and my other tee-totaler friend try his energy drink x vodka cocktail. Even if most of that stuff was energy drink, it still burned like somebody had poured liquid fire down my throat. |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | I've tasted alcohol, but I don't like it. Wines are always too sour, the strong stuff is too strong, beer tastes terrible and vodka? It. Freaking. Burns. Like fire. |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | Chanterelle mushrooms. Oh my <3 |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | This is what sautéed reindeer and mashed potatoes look like in Finland. XD http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/d6/Poronk%C3%A4ristys.jpg |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | I'm actually a tee-totaler, but I don't mind alcohol-based sauces and broths. |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | Mashed potatoes with sautéed reindeer (and the Finnish way, the reindeer has simmered in beer). Yuuuuuuuum. |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | It's also funny how I love cauliflower, but hate broccoli. |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | Zucchini is one food I can't stand at all. I once thought it was cucumber and ate it, and have hated it since. |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | Can't eat potatoes anymore. Too much carbohydrates, they make you fat if you eat too many. |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | ...One thing I can't stand are boiled veggies. I want my carrots and cauliflower raw, they taste terrible when you cook them (and they're all soft and icky). Plus boiled cauliflower smells like sheet. |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | Red onion. I want my salads and pizza always with red onion. It's mild and tastes awesome. |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | And it's also good for you - your breath's going to smell awful, but it's healthy. (And it keeps vampires away.) |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | Garlic is one food that goes with everything. |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | I once discovered the greatest alternative to butter/margarine ever. ...I used garlic powder on my bread. 8D |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | I actually don't eat any sauces or ketchup or mustard with my meat or fish dishes. I only need spices and I'm happy. |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | ...I only have mustard with sausages. imho it goes with nothing else. |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | I like my meat with brown sauce. Yum. |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | Also, as for simple food... well, my breakfast just now is a can of tuna in water. |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | Oh, I like honey better than sweet & sour sauce. Sweet & sour sauce is horrible. |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | It works, though. My dad once made honeyed chicken cutlets. |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | Think I'll actually buy some today. I have enough of my dad's lunch vouchers (he gets those from work). |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | My favorite Chinese dish - fried noodles, beef and veggies. I'm not sure what spices they're using since that dish tastes like heaven. |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | YES. YES IT WILL. I will be fetching my SRW OG soundtrack today. |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | .fortune |
Jun 17, 2013 | Beldarius | Y'know what. ...I love Osamu Sugo's character design in Cyber Formula, but... I can't stop laughing at his shoes for whatever reason. http://www.animecharactersdatabase.com/character.php?id=62850 |
Jun 16, 2013 | Beldarius | ...All right. I wish I knew what that meant. *yawn* Good lord, I've stayed up for too long. It's 4:30 AM. |
